VISIT SPAIN AT THE WINTER FANCY FOOD SHOW

The Winter Fancy Food Show in San Francisco is a great opportunity to learn about Spanish specialty foods companies and their products. From Jan. 18-20, 2009, Spain's pavilion will include 12 firms presenting products such as Serrano and Ibérico ham, Manchego cheeses, olive oils, sweets, table olives, saffron from La Mancha, pimentón, etc. Visit them and taste unique tapas at booths 3530-3549, with 20,000 sq. ft.

WORLDS OF FLAVOR CONFERENCE

Foods and Wines from Spain are participating in Worlds of Flavor at the Culinary Institute of America's Napa Valley, California, campus. This year's event, A Mediterranean Flavor Odyssey: Preserving and Reinventing Traditions for Modern Palates, takes place November 6-8, 2008. NOVEMBER OLIVE OIL HARVEST

This fall's olive harvest in Spain begins in early November. Olive oil experts at ASAJA estimate that production from this harvest will be between 1,100 and 1,160 thousand tons, a bit less than last year, which was about 1,260,000 tons of olive oil. The Andalusian region alone is expected to produce 960,000 tons, about half of which comes from the province of Jaén. Oleo Digital magazine.

2009 SALON INTERNATIONAL DEL CLUB DE GOURMETS

The 23rd annual International Club de Gourmets trade show takes place from March 30-April 2, 2009 in Madrid. In April 2008 the show received 70,808 professional visitors and had 1,243 exhibitors. RAFFLE FOR IBERICO HAM

Chefs attending the starchefs.com International Congress in New York that subscribed to the professional magazine SpainGourmetour, published 3 times a year by ICEX (Spanish Institute for Foreign Trade), were entered into a raffle of an Ibèrico ham from Fermìn.The winner was Joe Natoli, executive chef of the Marriott Miami Airport.
